Manuelle Gautrand was born in and qualified as an architect in She set up her office in in Paris, where she lives and works. She has handled all kinds of projects, whether built or in study phase, ranging from housing and offices to cultural buildings, business premises and leisure facilities. Her clients are public contracting authorities as well as private firms, in France and abroad. The ‘C42’ Citroën flagship showroom building, at the Champs-Elysée Avenue in Paris, has contributed to make a name for herself with the large public and the International.
In Manuelle Gautrand has started the studies for the AVA tower in La Défense and has got the planning permission. She has also completed her first building at abroad: a shopping mall in Bangkok. has seen the completion of two significant buildings in France: ‘LaM’ - Lille museum of modern, contemporary and outsider art, opened in September , and a Business Centre in Saint-Etienne, a building of sqm.

Text description provided by the architects. Located in Saint-Louis (Alsace, France) in the “Three Borders” region and in the inner suburb of Basel, the “Forum” is a sqm cultural facilities designed to host associative, sporting and cultural events.
The wish was to create a unified project, playing on both the multiplicity of the connected volumes, and on a global homogenous design.
The building, made of 13 distinct volumes assembled in one big puzzle at the center of the site, is a harmonious answer to the surrounding individual houses. In the same time, the choice of a unique material for the whole building – a copper-colored expanded metal – makes it original equipment and a landmark in the city of Saint-Louis.
The inspiration has come from the context, which combines big orangey interlocking tile roofs with some industrial brick chimneys reminding the industrial past of the site.

The Galeries Lafayette department store building in Annecy is one of those unexpected, almost insolent pieces of architectural heritage within an otherwise relatively homogenous town, notable for its unique history. Designed in the s, the building was erected on the site with no awareness of its surroundings, heedless to context, form, alignment, or density.
And this is perhaps its force: it boldly made its mark on the site, as it has also made its mark on collective memory, so much so that it now features in the list of remarkable buildings of the 20th century.
The project was ambitious for its time. Around the Galeries Lafayette building wound a perfectly circular double ring of car parking, precisely tangential with the four corners of the department store’s square volume at its center. These two levels of parking were raised up, sitting on regularly spaced piles and providing pedestrian access to the recessed shopfront below. Pedestrians thereby came i
New vision of Parramatta Square civic hub
The City of Parramatta has released new vision of its $ million civic hub, designed by French practice Manuelle Gautrand Architecture with Australian firms Designinc and Lacoste and Stevenson, as construction on the project gets underway.
The new vision includes the first visualizations of the building’s interior since concept designs were released in
“Councillors first committed to the vision of a new civic building within a world-class commercial and cultural precinct in ,” said lord mayor Bob Dwyer.
In , the French Australian team won a design excellence competition for the building, known as 5 Parramatta Square, which will be the centrepiece of the $ billion renewal the precinct.
“Parramatta Square is one of the biggest urban regeneration projects Australia has ever seen and 5 Parramatta Square will be the beating heart of this revitalized CBD precinct,” Dwyer said.
The six-storey building is to include a public library and a discovery centre for cultural heritage spaces featuring interactive displays, exhibitions, a research lab and an Aboriginal Keeping Place for local Indigenous objects.
