Huseyin Arslan has spent his career as a driver and innovator in the global pulses and staple foods business, with over four decades of experience in the trading of agricultural and food products globally. Mr. Arslan cofounded AGT Foods in , growing the venture from a single lentil-splitting plant into a worldwide leader in plant-based proteins, supplying value-added pulses, staple foods and ingredients to the global marketplace. Mr. Arslan has acted in multiple leadership roles within AGT and its global subsidiaries, including Executive Chairman, Managing Director and Global President and Lead of Emerging Markets. Mr. Arslan holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Türkiye.
In , Mr. Arslan was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Global Pulse Confederation (GPC), the global pulse industry association, recognizing his lifetime service to the pulse sector. An international agri-food, strategic business and financial thinker, Murad founded AGT Foods in , building a Canadian start-up into a global billion-dollar value-added, plant-based protein company supplying pulses, staple foods and ingredients to customers around the globe. Murad has a varied experience in board roles including appointments to the Industry Strategy Council of the Government of Canada in ; Chair, Government of Canada National Agri-Food Strategy Roundtable; Chair of the SME Advisory Board for Canada’s Trade Minister; Chair, Executive Committee, Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada; the Board of Pulse Canada and as Board Chair of Economic Development Regina. Murad Al-Katib is the founder, President and CEO of Alliance Grain Traders Inc. Murad was born and raised in Davidson, Saskatchewan; he took a degree in business from the University of Regina, followed by a Masters in Global Management from Arizona. After a short term working for the Government of Saskatchewan promoting international trade, Murad started his first company, Saskcan Pulse Trading in , and has since grown it into a global operation selling to more than countries, through 29 manufacturing plants in five continents.
