She also writes poetry, script and lyrics for musicals and has developed and written for animated TV. Dreamworks in the US have optioned her series starring Rumblewick, an overworked cat to a reluctant witch, as the inspiration for an animated movie. THE VACKEES, a musical for which she wrote the words, is regularly performed across the country and LAST TRAIN TO TOMORROW, about the rescue of 10, Jewish children from the holocaust, was performed by the Halle Orchestra, junior choir and actors to standing ovation. Her favourite children's book ever is THE SECRET GARDEN by F.H. Burnett and her vote for best children's movie goes to Disney's JUNGLE

Mine!

November 7,
Mine! is a story about sisters Isabel and Claudia. Isabel is always asking Claudia if she can play with her toys, however Claudia always says 'no!' and reminds Isabel that the toys are hers.
One day, the sisters go on a walk with their mum. Isabel sits on Claudia's tricycle and Claudia pulls her off. Mum tells Claudia to share her tricyle but Claudia does not let her, instead pushing the tricycle out of Claudia's reach. The tricycle goes flying down a hill and ends up broken. Once they find the broken tricycle, Isabel tells Claudia, 'yours!'.

This book is a good book to either read to a class or for a child to read individually. The book is simple to follow and there are many opportunities to ask children questions such as 'What do you think will happen next?' or 'How do you think Isabel feels?'.

There is a repetition throughout this book and a clear structure to the story so this book could be a good resource to use when acting out stories.

This book is best suited to children in Year 2.
